Law & Motions Attorney
Confidential is a firm seeking an experienced Law & Motions Attorney to support its high-volume personal injury litigation practice. The role focuses on sophisticated motion practice, dispositive motions, writs, and appellate matters, requiring advanced legal research and persuasive writing skills.

Responsibilities
Research, draft, and argue all substantive motions in personal injury and civil litigation matters, including but not limited to:
Motions for summary judgment
Motions to strike or exclude expert testimony
Motions to compel and other discovery-related motions
Motions in limine
Responses and replies to opposing motions
Prepare and argue post-trial motions, including judgments notwithstanding the verdict (JNOVs), motions for new trial, and remittiturs
Draft and present interlocutory and appellate briefs in both state and federal courts
Support trial teams with jury charge preparation, preservation of error, and appellate strategy
Provide strategic counsel to litigation teams regarding motion practice to enhance case positioning, valuation, and readiness for settlement or trial
Conduct advanced legal research on complex issues involving tort law, civil procedure, and evidentiary standards
Collaborate closely with trial attorneys to ensure all matters are fully trial- and appeal-ready, including the proper preservation of objections and appellate issues
Train and mentor junior attorneys in effective legal research, writing, and motion practice
Qualification
Required
Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas
Demonstrated excellence in advanced legal research
Persuasive legal writing skills
Oral advocacy skills
Experience in sophisticated motion practice
Experience with dispositive motions, writs, and appellate matters
Ability to conduct advanced legal research on complex issues involving tort law, civil procedure, and evidentiary standards
