Start in 2026 SummerUL Standards & Engagement is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing safety science research. They are seeking an IT Operations Intern to assist in monitoring and maintaining IT systems, providing end-user support, and contributing to operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
Assist the IT operations team in monitoring and maintaining the company's network, servers, and other infrastructure components
Work with the IT operations team during day-to-day end user support
Help troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by end-users, escalating complex problems to senior team members when necessary
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates, hardware upgrades, and system backups
Participate in the creation and maintenance of documentation, including system configurations, user guides, and standard operating procedures
Assist in managing user accounts, permissions, and access levels for various IT systems and applications
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for process improvement and propose innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency
Willingness to stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in IT operations
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
Strong technical aptitude and a genuine passion for technology
Basic knowledge of networking principles, computer hardware, and operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux)
Familiarity and willingness to learn more about IT service management concepts, such as incident management, problem management, and change management
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and end-users
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Availability to work full-time during the internship period
Positive and collaborative, strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others across the organization
Strong written and oral communication/presentation skills
Problem solving and project management skills to identify issues and concerns as they arise and recommend practical solutions for improvement
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Proven track record of being able to work collaboratively with others
Ability to take direction and show initiative
Proficient in Office 365 and able to learn new software applications
