Responsibilities

Provides support to Radiology Department Manager and Department Leadership Team
Coordinates the administrative functions of the department
Utilizes appropriate resources to complete assignment within allocated time period
Adapts to changes in volume/acuity demands
Remains calm in crisis situations
Adheres to Attendance and Tardiness Policy
Supports responsible staffing decisions (cancels, places staff on hold/on call, calls in on hold/on call staff appropriately)
Demonstrates efforts to eliminate waste
Reports to work on time and is ready to start work
Consistently utilizes Kronos system to document hours of work
Demonstrates problem solving ability using appropriate resources
Serves as a resource as needed in an effective manner to unit and other departments
Is supportive of administrative decisions
Demonstrates teamwork and cooperation, works well with others
Is flexible in meeting staffing and scheduling requirements of the department
Has working knowledge of the operation of Department or seeks guidance from appropriate personnel
Reports equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel and correctly completes work order
Assures safe and clean environment. Keeps hallways clutter free and rooms neat
Utilizes standard precautions by wearing protective equipment (goggles, gowns, gloves and uses correct handwashing techniques)
Consistently strives to improve performance
Makes suggestions for improvement
Is receptive to new ideas
Is cognizant of age specific, cultural and physical needs of customer in providing service
Maintains confidentiality of all patient/other information
Gives accurate and concise reports
Keeps the Department Director informed on reportable situations and department needs

Participates in unit/department orientation/preceptorships

Prepares and process check requests for invoices in a timely manner
Liaison for HR processes, i.e. scheduling of interviews, preparation of required HR paperwork and tracking of licensure and mandatory training attendance
Prepares supply orders as needed
Performs required MQSA paperwork for mammography program as assigned by Operations Coordinator for the Breast Center
Pulls film jackets for Physician Peer Review and records monthly results
Displays an attitude and behavior that reflects high regard for teamwork, harmony, and cooperation
Facilitate the work of the Department by engaging in a customer-oriented relationship with members of the Medical Staff, patients/families, within the department and throughout the organization
Coordinate department record retention activities
Records minutes for departmental meetings and radiation safety committee
Distributes department mail to appropriate modalities/individuals
Responsible for running department ordered exams, pre-registration and ancillary charge reports
Provides follow-up on projects as requested by Director
Provides typing support and general clerical assistance to department Director, Assistant Director, Radiologists and leadership team

Required

Education in secretarial or administrative sciences or equivalent experience
Must have strong computer skills; multi-task oriented; professional and tactful manner with good judgment in dealing with hospital personnel, physicians, visitors and the public
