Responsibilities

Serves as the technical expert for enterprise-level IA and CND technology and tools used within DLA
Responsibilities include: proposing, specifying, scheduling, directing and/or personally deploying appropriate tools
Responsible for maintaining IA/CND tools and technology in order to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of DLA computer resources
Serves as a technical authority for system and network security solutions which involve responsibility for integrating facets of work performed by others, rapidly changing technology, and novel and obscure infrastructure protection problems
Attempts to correlate data from multiple sources in order to obtain as complete and accurate a picture as possible of the nature and magnitude of the threat to DLA and others' data

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position
To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector
Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement
Creditable specialized experience includes: Writes and/or edits and disseminates where appropriate results of reviews, analyses, and investigations
Technical authority for a variety of system and network security solutions and techniques which involve responsibility for integrating facets of work performed by others, rapidly changing technology, and novel and obscure infrastructure protection problems
Coordinates, reviews and evaluates agency infrastructure protection program, including policies, guidelines, tools, methods, and technologies; identifies current and potential problem areas
Applying IT security principles and methods; analytical ability; and communications techniques; and procedures for purchasing/using COTS products sufficient to plan and coordinate the delivery of an IT security awareness training program for end users at all levels in the organization
