WELD SHOP LEAD
Wells is a company focused on delivering high-quality concrete products and empowering their employees. They are seeking a Weld Shop Lead to oversee a crew in producing weld components, ensuring safety and quality while managing production processes.

Responsibilities
Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, and using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools
Move parts for ongoing projects in production into position for finished products with hoists or cranes
Lay out and examine metal stock or work pieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met
Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes
Tack-weld fitted parts together
Remove high spots and cut bevels, using hand files, portable grinders, and cutting torches
Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses, to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components
Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences
Align and fit parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers
Safety of crew
All policies/procedures followed (safety rules, equipment inspections, etc.)
Response to all department incident emails with root cause and corrective actions
Be present on the floor watching for safety concerns
Weekly Toolbox talk development and delivery
Completion of Daily Cleaning Procedures
Inventory of all necessary materials/equipment
Ensure that all members of the department receive proper training in tasks and skills necessary to work safely and efficiently
Qualification
Required
Minimum three (3) years certified welding and/or fabrication experience required
Ability to read blueprints and drawings
Ability to use measuring devices, such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, depth gauges, and fixed gauges
Physically able to lift to 75 lbs., occasionally
Physically able to push, pull, lift, bend, climb, kneel, twist, squat, crawl and use hands/forearms repetitively and frequently
Ability to move around for up to 12 hours per day
Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, swing stages and man lifts at various heights frequently
Preferred
Two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience preferred
