Firmware Engineering Intern (Summer 2026) (Onsite)
RTX is a world leader in advanced communication systems and is seeking a motivated Firmware Engineering Intern to join their team in Marlborough, MA. The intern will work on creating solutions using FPGAs, SoCs, and CPLDs, and will engage in various tasks including RTL design, testbench development, and hardware evaluation.

Responsibilities
Register Transaction Level (RTL) design of components used in configurable logic devices
Testbench development and simulation using Universal Verification Methodology (UVM)
Generation and updates of engineering documentation
Constraint creation for FPGAs, SoCs, and CPLDs
Document and code reviews
Test and Evaluation of product hardware and evaluation boards using lab equipment
Qualification
Required
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred
Coursework, projects, or experience with FPGAs, VHDL, and SystemVerilog
Technical experience through prior internships
Programming experience with C, MATLAB, and scripting languages
Prior leadership experience
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
Good written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated and demonstrates history of working well in a team environment
Strong interest in the firmware design process
