Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for agricultural and farm-based activities
Manage general ledger, journal entries, month-end close, and financial reporting
Track and account for crop, livestock, inventory, and production-related costs
Prepare and review balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
Handle AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and cash management
Ensure proper accounting treatment for land, equipment, depreciation, and biological assets
Support budgeting, forecasting, and seasonal cash flow planning
Ensure compliance with GAAP and agriculture-specific accounting practices
Coordinate with external accountants on tax filings and audits
Improve accounting processes and internal controls as the operation grows
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience within the agriculture industry (required)
Experience with farm, agribusiness, or agricultural production accounting
Strong understanding of inventory, cost accounting, and asset management in agriculture
Proficiency with accounting software and Excel
Ability to work on-site at a farm location and collaborate closely with operations
Detail-oriented, hands-on, and comfortable working in a non-corporate environment
