Responsibilities

Applies a range of analytical, mathematical, and/or statistical theories, principles, and practices to plan, coordinate, and execute segments of complex studies
Compiles, organizes, and analyzes data/information to find solutions to problems requiring the use of a broad range of established operations research methods and techniques
Participates in special initiatives, studies, and projects. Performs special research tasks designed to utilize and enhance knowledge of work processes and techniques
Attends meetings, conferences, briefings, and seminars related to program planning. Prepares and presents briefings on the study's progress and results
Keeps abreast of emerging technologies and professional development to remain current in the field and for application to work assignments

Required

Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus
U.S. Citizenship Required
Professional knowledge of a wide range of principles, concepts, and practices of operations research analysis to apply scientific methods and techniques to analyze systems, processes, and/or operational problems and procedures
Knowledge of mathematics and analysis to perform studies and prepare reports, documentation, and correspondence to communicate recommendations/conclusions clearly
Knowledge of quantitative techniques and methods used to develop, adapt, modify, and apply models to resolve problems or define and clarify alternative solutions
Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply operations research rules and procedures in a variety of situations and recommend solutions to senior analysts
Ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors and fundamental relationships, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions
Ability to plan and organize work and confer with co-workers effectively

Preferred

A Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited institution in operations research or mathematics, computer science, one of the physical sciences, engineering or a closely related scientific discipline is highly desired
