They are seeking a Senior Property LOB Analyst to support growth and profitability initiatives for their commercial property line of business, focusing on rates, rules, and compliance issues.
Responsibilities
Works collaboratively with the commercial line of business manager to oversee the inventory of bureau circulars and analytical projects, and to determine whether the organization is required or elects to adopt legislation
Partner with the Product Development Specialists in support of ISO and AAIS rates, rules and forms
Manage the line of business assigned for all corporate governance and compliance issues
Recommend actions outlining pros and cons when considering options with regard to ISO, AAIS and independent property rating bureau
Ensure consistent processes and tools for product development including intake, tracking, review, materiality and decisions in terms of ISO, AAIS and independent property rating bureau circulars and bulletins
Maintain ownership of the P&L for assigned line of business and provide analysis for state and countrywide rate reviews
Manage underwriting referrals from the field and/or corporate and advise accordingly
Includes supporting the Product Development Specialist’s, analysis of existing manuscript endorsements, determination of acceptability based on clarity, accuracy, and compliance with each state’s regulations, development of alternative solutions using filed forms, or provide alternative language that is compliant, clear, and concise
Actively participate in supporting predictive model efforts related to the property line of business
Assist with the creation and delivery of educational materials and training programs for agents as well as regional and corporate personnel
Participate in the Large Loss Review process and Quality Assurance Reviews as necessary. Drafting analysis, insight and takeaways or action plans
Supports Product Development Specialists efforts to maintain inventory and accountability for governance of existing rates, rules and forms, including oversight of delay/non-adopt ISO, AAIS, and independent property rating bureau circulars
Qualification
Required
5+ years of commercial property underwriting experience
Experience with and understanding of rates, rules and forms related to regional and state insurance bureaus
Strong underwriting technician skills
Product knowledge and experience with underwriting guidelines
Deep working knowledge of ISO, AAIS and independent property rating bureau circulars and bulletins
Ability to champion new initiatives in alignment with organizational strategies
Strategic and analytical thinking skills
Problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions, sometimes without full/perfect data
Preferred
A college degree is preferred
