Responsibilities
Prepares construction drawings and sketches
Facilitates planning construction methods and procedures
Initiates requisitions for field purchases
Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment
Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required
Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely
Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities
Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development
Reviews and approves inspection test plans
Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals
Qualification
Required
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
Technical knowledge of construction surveying, piping, hydrotesting, and welding
Experience with the piping discipline such as PCCP, HDPE, Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and Alloy piping
Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H)
Demonstrated commitment to a Zero Accident safety program
Must be computer-literate in word processing, spreadsheet and Bechtel database applications
Must be familiar with current industry quality standards
Basic ability to utilize the TeamWorks automation suite as the Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs)
Knowledge of Project Technical Requests (PTR) for routing and resolving Requests for Information (RFIs), Field Change Documents (FCDs), and Non Conformance/Compliance Reports (NCRs) between project sites, contractors, clients, and home office
Knowledge of work packaging
Basic understanding of production management including scheduling
Sound communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
Basic knowledge of cost management including estimating and forecast development
Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces
Some lifting may be required
Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress)
Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.)
