Responsibilities

Determines method of shipment and prepares bills, invoices and other shipping documents
Receive material - check and signs delivery slips, and assists with unloading as necessary
Inspect and verifies incoming goods against invoices or other documents, records shortages and rejects damaged goods
Accept or returns material according to established company procedures. Prints and affixes proper labels
Organize distribution and shipping of merchandise. Make necessary verifications against documents
May operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods
Maintain internal record-keeping systems
Contact transport companies and suppliers in order to expedite, trace or return material that does not conform to specifications or purchase orders
Assembles containers and crates, packs goods to be shipped and prepares identifying information and shipping instructions
Take inventory, maintain storage area, organize and place stock on shelves. Ensure area is secure at all times
Keeping up date inventories and invoices in the system
Assist Supervisor as needed
Locate material according to layout
Communicates pertinent information per shift
Examine shipment contents and compare with invoices to verify accuracy
Record discrepancies in order to make a failure warning if it is necessary
Shipping schedules follow up/attainment Generates and provides proper paperwork for transportation

Required

High School Diploma or GED required
2-3 years related experience in shipping activities in a manufacturing or similar fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office
Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail
Strong analytical ability
Ability to stand and walk for 8–12 hours per shift on hard surfaces in a production environment
Frequent use of hands for handling tools, assembling components, and operating machinery. Requires fine motor skills and grip strength
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing 10–50 lbs. regularly; occasional lifting up to 75 lbs. with assistance
Routine reaching above shoulders, bending, and twisting waist, and squatting as part of process and tasks
Continuous arm, hand, and wrist movements for tasks such as fastening, positioning, and installing
Occasional use of steps to access different height level areas
Must wear required PPE (safety shoes, gloves, protective sleeves, eye and hearing protection) as per company safety standards
