Director of Risk Management
Transportation Management Group (TMG) is a mission-driven provider of non-emergency medical transportation services. They are seeking a technically fluent, data-driven Director of Risk Management to build and scale an enterprise risk function grounded in analytics and proactive risk intelligence.

Responsibilities
Own and lead enterprise-wide risk identification, assessment, scoring, and mitigation frameworks, leveraging data, trend analysis, and predictive indicators to proactively address safety, compliance, and operational risk
Design, maintain, and continuously improve risk dashboards, KPIs, KRIs, and executive-level reporting using data sourced from incidents, claims, fleet systems, HR, compliance, and operations
Develop loss-trend analysis, frequency/severity modeling, and leading-indicator metrics to inform executive decision-making, insurance strategy, and resource allocation
Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for executive leadership, operations, and governance stakeholders
Direct complex incident and accident investigations using structured root cause methodologies, incorporating human factors, operational workflows, fleet data, environmental conditions, and systemic control gaps
Ensure investigation findings are documented, tracked, and converted into measurable corrective actions with ownership, timelines, and follow-up validation
Oversee insurance and claims strategy, including claims data analysis, reserve review, loss-run interpretation, and performance tracking across carriers and TPAs
Partner with Legal and Finance to support litigation strategy, evidence preservation, and data-backed settlement evaluation
Serve as the functional owner for risk-related systems, tools, and reporting platforms; evaluate, implement, and optimize technology solutions that improve visibility, consistency, and scalability
Standardize incident reporting, investigation workflows, audit processes, and documentation using digital tools and automation where possible
Partner with Operations, Fleet, HR, Compliance, and IT to ensure data integrity, system alignment, and consistent application of risk controls across all locations
Lead company-wide safety and compliance programs, including regulatory audits, internal reviews, and ongoing monitoring of federal, state, and contractual requirements
Design and govern OSHA-aligned safety programs, training compliance tracking, and workforce competency monitoring
Establish and enforce risk management policies, emergency preparedness plans, crisis response protocols, and business continuity frameworks aligned with best practices
Monitor regulatory changes impacting NEMT, transportation safety, healthcare-adjacent operations, and workforce protection, ensuring timely, documented implementation
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing data-supported guidance on emerging risks, operational exposure, insurance strategy, and scalability challenges
Prepare executive-facing materials related to enterprise risk posture, claims trends, safety performance, and compliance maturity
Drive continuous improvement through benchmarking, post-incident analytics, and adoption of scalable, metrics-driven risk practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Risk Management, Data Analytics (applied), or a related field; equivalent experience considered
5+ years of progressive experience in risk management, safety, or compliance, with demonstrated ownership of data, metrics, and reporting
2+ years in a leadership or enterprise-level role within a multi-site, regulated, field-based environment
Proven ability to analyze trends, build dashboards, and present data-driven insights to senior leadership
Strong working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, HIPAA, and applicable federal and state regulations
Experience overseeing claims management and insurance programs with hands-on exposure to loss runs, analytics, and performance tracking
High level of technical comfort, including experience with risk systems, reporting platforms, Excel/BI tools, or similar analytics solutions
Executive presence with the ability to challenge assumptions, influence outcomes, and maintain independence through data-supported reasoning
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally and as needed to support operations across multiple states
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening, in accordance with company policy and applicable law
Preferred
Master's degree in Health & Safety, Risk Management, Analytics, or related discipline
Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar credential
Experience implementing or scaling risk, safety, or incident-management software
Certified CPR Instructor (American Red Cross) and OSHA 501 Authorized Trainer
