Social Media Intern

Eventive Sports, a Troon company based in Birmingham, Alabama, is a leader in sports event management. They are seeking a highly organized and data-driven Social Media Intern to assist with social media strategy, content creation, and influencer management for various events.

Responsibilities

Assist with creating and scheduling content for social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, and LinkedIn
Support the planning and exaction of social media content calendars
Help write captions that align with brand voice, campaign goals, and event messaging
Work with event management for boosted social media posts
Assist with on-site social media coverage during events using the Slate platform (stories & reels)
Organize and maintain digital assets (photos, videos, graphics)
Monitor social media comments and messages for each event / flag items that need responses (answer questions, engage with followers, repost/comment)
Track performance metrics (engagement, reach, impressions), help with event recap documents, and analyze analytics
Management of social media giveaways, promotions, contests, and fan engagement initiatives
Support additional marketing tasks as needed, including e-blasts, graphics, or event promotions
Develop and executive influencer marketing strategies and campaigns from start to finish
Stay current with and provide thought leadership on industry trends and best practices
Collaborate with event management and accept constructive input and feedback
Ability to design within brand standards and ensure a consistent content voice and tone while still pushing creative boundaries
Comfortable communicating within all levels of an organization
Ability to schedule, appreciate, and meet deadlines
Monitor outside advertising vendors to ensure accurate and timely completion of projects
Stay current with and provide thought leadership on design and industry trends
Support additional marketing tasks as needed, including e-blasts, graphics, or event promotions

Experience in core design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere, Acrobat, etc.)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organization skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task several projects at a time
Analytical mindset and critical thinking
Self-motivated and team player who thrives in a busy environment
Familiarity with social media platforms and analytics tools (Meta, X/Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Google Analytics, etc.)
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously
Comfortable working nights, weekends, and event days as required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred

Knowledge/interest in sports is helpful, but not required
Suggested majors include Marketing, Communications, PR
Some travel to events during the year may be required
Hours may vary between 30-40 hours per week, with potential overtime during event weeks
Candidate must be willing to work nights and weekends during events, as needed
