Responsibilities
Work material through necessary rolls following a prescribed pass sequence to obtain a specific cross section
Assist in roll changes, set guides, guide boxes and plates following standard procedures
Assist in set-up and alignment of guides during set-up and rolling to produce specific product
Maintain production paper work, mill logs, loading sheets and SFDM functions following standard process
Assist in the alignment and adjustment of rolls
Locate and loading of material into furnace
Maintain and store all parts and tooling in good working condition in designated areas
Maintain a visual alertness to observe bar shape, defects, and guides to reduce defect level and variations in standard process to improve first pass yield
Participate in Incident Investigation to determine Root Cause using Problem Solving Skills
Participate in Standard Work events on processes to reduce cycle time and create a safer work area
Follow and implement all prescribed safety rules and regulations
Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
Perform other duties as required or directed by management
Qualification
Required
Prior manufacturing experience
Must be able to maintain IME certification by fulfilling all requirements
Preferred
General high school diploma or GED
Use of standard measuring devices, ruler and tape measure
Fundamental math skills
