Responsibilities
Direct one of three Retirement Planning & Outreach Sections in providing accurate and timely benefit information and education to Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) members
Manage staff workload and workflow to assure quality and effectiveness of operations and services
Provide direction to staff on the interpretation, application, and implementation of existing and changing laws, rules, and policies governing WRS benefit programs
Respond to written and telephone inquiries, individual member counseling, and preparing and explaining benefit estimates and other WRS account information to members and other customers
Develop and deliver mass communications such as public and private presentations, webinars, e-learnings, website postings, and more
Qualification
Required
Leading and/or overseeing the work of others (e.g., training, assigning duties, reviewing work, providing feedback, etc.)
Directing and/or monitoring day-to-day business operations (e.g., developing and implementing work procedures, managing workload, resolving issues, etc.)
Collaborating with diverse stakeholder groups (e.g., staff, management, customers, business partners, etc.)
Researching, analyzing, and interpreting complex laws, rules, policies, programs, etc
Preferred
Leading and/or overseeing the work of others in a civil service or benefits administration environment
Formally supervising other staff (e.g., hiring, performance management, discipline, etc.)
Developing and implementing strategies for program improvement (e.g., increasing efficiency, improving service delivery, aligning with broader agency goals and objectives, etc.)
