Promotions Specialist
Allegiance Retail Services, LLC is seeking a Promotions Specialist responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of item and promotional data across all systems. This role involves liaising between Systems/IT, Merchandising, and member stores to support ad execution and digital promotions while maintaining data quality and troubleshooting issues.
Responsibilities
Monitor, review, and resolve system-generated error reports, including but not limited to critical errors, coupon validation issues, overlap reports, and data exceptions
Ensure accuracy and integrity of item, UPC, pricing, and promotional data across all supported systems
Maintain detailed documentation of errors, root causes, and corrective actions within the Ad Proofing Error Log to support continuous improvement
Build, update, and maintain promotional data within the APS ad system, including front-page changes and ad program configurations
Review and proof weekly major ad programs and coupons against printed circulars, verifying accuracy of offers, funding types, sale retails, limits, items, and ad program assignments
Coordinate with Merchandising to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely corrections prior to publication
Omit stores from corporate promotions as needed due to overlapping store-level promotions or store-submitted requests
Build and manage Allegiance-supported one-store specials on a weekly basis, ensuring accuracy and alignment with printed and digital ads
Create, review, implement, and troubleshoot complex digital coupon and loyalty offers, working closely with AppCard (or equivalent loyalty platform), member stores, and internal teams
Support coupon validation and redemption accuracy to ensure a seamless customer experience and compliance with vendor requirements
Review and coordinate with Merchandising on missing or requested UPCs for club card promotions, including both internal and store-submitted requests
Communicate decisions, actions taken, or inaction clearly and professionally back to the requesting party
Monitor and respond to data department emails and phone inquiries, taking ownership of department-related requests and routing others to the appropriate teams as needed
Maintain organized digital records, including a shared drive folder for 'please post' communications to ensure weekend and after-hours accessibility
Act as a subject matter resource for data integrity and promotional execution questions from internal departments and member stores
Assist with system testing, process improvements, and special projects related to promotions, data accuracy, and operational efficiency
Stay current on retail data standards, digital promotions, and loyalty program best practices to support evolving business needs
Perform other related duties as assigned and approved by the Supervisor
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred (Business, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field)
2+ years of experience in retail data management, promotions support, merchandising systems, or related roles
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with retail systems, ad management platforms, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred
Experience working within a supermarket, grocery cooperative, or retail promotions environment
Familiarity with loyalty platforms, digital coupon systems, and POS-related data flows
Experience collaborating with IT, Merchandising, and third-party vendors
Experience with WordPress and Canva
Ability to analyze data, monitor KPIs, and make sound business decisions
