Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of Sutter Health’s community grantmaking and investment strategy within a defined geographic area
Oversee the full lifecycle of community health investments—from identifying local priorities and soliciting and reviewing proposals, to monitoring outcomes and evaluating impact
Build and sustain strong partnerships with community-based organizations, public agencies, and local leaders to support underserved communities and advance measurable improvements in community health
Participate in the development of Sutter Health’s tri-annual Community Health Needs Assessment, ensuring that community voice and local insights inform system priorities and investment strategies
Contribute to internal and external communications that highlight community health activities, partnerships, and impact stories to strengthen awareness and engagement across Sutter and the communities it serves
Connect system resources with community expertise to expand access to care, strengthen behavioral health, and grow the local health workforce
Oversee staff and resources that support grant administration, community benefit and regulatory compliance, and partnership engagement

Required

Bachelor's: Public Policy, Public Health or Public Administration, or a related field
8 years recent relevant experience
Must be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Must have a significant understanding of community-based organizations and local and statewide Foundations and government agencies
Knowledge of public relations and event coordination
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook software
Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction
Demonstrated ability to effectively work with executives and senior management teams
