Responsibilities
Monitors and organizes direct hire activities, through coordination and instruction within their area of responsibility
Role supports projects of moderate complexity and few stakeholders involved
Prepares construction drawings and sketches
Develops planning construction methods and procedures
Develops projections and schedules for workforce, material, and equipment requirements
Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements
Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management
Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals
Coordinates with Design on constructability issues
Qualification
Required
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9 -12 years of relevant work experience
Knowledge of a single or multi-discipline construction or engineering operation
Knowledge of Bechtel's Zero Accident Philosophy
Knowledge of the Project ES&H Handbook, the Supervisors ES&H Manual, the Project Safety Management Plan and the Bechtel Core Processes
Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities (underground utility installation, directional boring, site grading/earthworks, road construction, and driven h-pile installation)
Knowledge of Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs)
Familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards such as ASTM, ACI, and ASCE
Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications in accordance with current Bechtel Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards
Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment
Knowledge of the use of subcontracts, and the contractor and subcontractor's responsibilities contained in subcontract documents
Experience working with, supervising and administering subcontractors and/or Direct Hire workforce
