Responsibilities

Perform routine building maintenance tasks such as assembling furniture, painting touch ups, door adjustments, minor wall repairs, replacing ceiling/flooring tiles and carpeting
Aid janitorial and hospitality staff with general requests for support including moving furniture, racks/equipment, disposing of garbage using forklifts, set-up and tear down of special event areas
Take furnishing, furniture, and equipment layout and arrange according to plan/direction
Perform inspections and repairs of interior and exterior areas to include walls, floors, fixtures, roofing systems, and lighting
Perform site cleanup, landscaping, pest control, and maintain interior office/factory cleanliness
Support facilities in light demolition and basic construction
Open, track and resolve electronic work tickets on SpaceX systems
Adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times
Read, interpret and understand technical language in specifications, schematics, and blueprints
Operate a forklift, scissor lift, pallet jack, boom lift, work truck, and overhead crane
Perform building and grounds inspections, restock supplies, and advise leadership concerning inventory needs
Perform regular basic preventive maintenance of equipment and facilities to detect faulty operations or equipment
Oversee projects, repairs and services
Written and verbal communication skills, use of MS Outlook and Teams
Produce high quality work independently and efficiently, without supervision

Required

High school diploma or equivalency certificate
3+ years of experience installing modular furniture systems, corporate or commercial furniture, major moves, or repair work
Able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted
Work hours depend on site priorities and may require overtime hours, weekends and holidays; flexibility required
Strong attendance and adhering to the work schedule is essential function of the role
Periodic work in extreme outdoor environments: heat, cold, wind, rain
Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
Able to work at elevated heights (up to 150 feet), including the use of ladders and/or stairs
Must have a valid TX driver's license
Up to 10% travel
To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State

Preferred

1+ year of facilities, maintenance, or construction experience
Familiar with space planning procedures and operations
Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
Self-motivated, works well with others and autonomously
Ability to perform finish carpentry tasks, such as door installation and framing, drywall repair, cabinetry
Experienced or certified with product lines such as Knoll, Teknion, or Allsteel
Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to generate service reports and communicate within the company including skills to navigate web-based service literature and programs
Possesses a good attitude, willingness to learn, flexibility, and is a self-starter
Demonstrates a consistent record of punctual schedule adherence
Comfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction
