Responsibilities

Lead and perform traffic studies, interpreting complex data to determine environmental impacts
Conduct both desktop research and field investigations (as needed) to complete technical analyses
Collaborate closely with planners, engineers, and environmental specialists to develop practical and effective mitigation strategies
Prepare, review, and quality‑check technical documents that support CEQA and NEPA compliance
Serve as a subject matter expert on traffic-related issues to ensure regulatory compliance and defensible documentation
Monitor evolving regulatory requirements and industry practices
Manage writing assignments and project tasks effectively while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
Maintain rigorous quality standards for all deliverables

Required

15+ years of professional experience as a traffic analyst, with strong analytical capabilities, exceptional writing skills, and a solid understanding of CEQA and NEPA
Demonstrated experience performing VMT (Vehicle Miles Traveled) analyses in accordance with CEQA for EIRs and IS/MNDs
Proficiency conducting LOS (Level of Service) analyses for technical studies supporting CEQA and NEPA documentation
Bachelor's degree in transportation, civil engineering, environmental science, planning, or a related discipline required
Outstanding technical writing and communication abilities, particularly in producing analytical reports for environmental review
Strong working knowledge of traffic analysis tools and software
Ability to work independently with a high degree of professionalism, especially in writing, client interaction, and coordination with agencies, teams, and subcontractors
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce polished, defensible technical reports and present findings
In-depth expertise in VMT
Robust experience with CEQA and NEPA compliance in California across: Urban, suburban, and rural land development OR Energy and water infrastructure OR Federal and local agency land use amendments OR Utility, municipal, city, and county projects
A strong sense of ownership over work products
Client-focused mindset with a solutions-oriented approach
