Responsibilities
Lead the migration of data from traditional data warehouses to Microsoft Fabric
Design and implement data models and schemas in Microsoft Fabric
Ensure data integrity and consistency during the migration process
Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, process, and store data from various sources
Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability
Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues to ensure smooth operation
Work closely with the Machine Learning team to provide the necessary data infrastructure for model training and deployment
Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team to ensure data availability and accessibility for reporting and visualization
Partner with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions
Implement data governance and best practices for data management
Ensure data quality, accuracy, and security across all data platforms
Maintain comprehensive documentation of data pipelines, processes, and architectures
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies in data engineering
Propose and implement improvements to existing data infrastructure and processes
Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
3- 4 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
Hands-on experience with data migration projects, preferably to Microsoft Fabric
Strong experience with ETL/ELT tools and processes
Proficiency in SQL and experience with data modeling and schema design
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and big data technologies
Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
Familiarity with machine learning concepts and tools
Experience with data visualization tools, particularly PowerBI
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred
Experience with Microsoft Fabric and its ecosystem
Knowledge of data governance and data security best practices
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
