Assistant Director
The Turning Point Center of Addison County (TPCAC) is a recovery community center dedicated to supporting individuals and families impacted by substance use. The Assistant Director will collaborate with the Executive Director to manage daily operations, advance strategic growth, and support program development while ensuring financial and programmatic stability.
Responsibilities
Assist in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of recovery-focused programs and services
Support program growth through data collection, outcome tracking, and continuous quality improvement
Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, service providers, and local stakeholders to expand programming and referral networks
Support outreach and advocacy efforts that increase community awareness, participation, and investment in recovery services
Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising and sustainability strategy
Assist with grant research, proposal writing, reporting, and compliance for public and private funding sources
Support donor cultivation, stewardship, and relationship management with individuals, businesses, and foundations
Help track fundraising outcomes, maintain donor records, and support impact reporting
Contribute to long-term strategic planning focused on financial sustainability, program expansion, and organizational growth
Support the development of partnerships that increase funding opportunities and shared resources
Assist in the development of external communications, including newsletters, press releases, social media, website updates, and donor-facing materials
Support annual fundraising appeals, donor campaigns, and targeted outreach efforts
Assist with planning and coordination of community events, fundraisers, and recovery-related activities that strengthen visibility and engagement
Promote programs, events, and organizational impact through strategic messaging and outreach
Provide leadership, mentorship, and day-to-day support to staff and volunteers
Assist with scheduling, training, and professional development opportunities
Collaborate with the Executive Director to design and implement onboarding and orientation processes for staff, interns, and volunteers
Assist in supervision and ongoing development of volunteer and internship programs
Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative organizational culture that supports growth and retention
Work with the Executive Director to support budgeting, grant management, reporting, and organizational planning
Assist in the development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Recovery Services Organization (RSO) requirements and other relevant standards
Ensure adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and best practices
Oversee day-to-day operations in the absence of the Executive Director
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in human services, nonprofit management, public administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Demonstrated experience in nonprofit leadership, program development, grant writing, fundraising, or human services
Strong organizational, communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills
Commitment to the values of recovery, equity, inclusion, and organizational sustainability
Preferred
Experience with donor relations, grant management, or strategic planning strongly preferred
Knowledge of recovery support services, peer-based approaches, and certification requirements strongly preferred
