Entry, Mid, Senior LevelThe Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Scientist 1/2/3 to join the Waste Enforcement Section. This role involves tackling complex enforcement cases, upholding environmental laws, and collaborating across disciplines to make a measurable impact across the state.

Responsibilities
Review inspection reports, permit data, and referrals to identify violations of environmental regulations
Draft and issue enforcement actions; monitor compliance and escalate cases as needed
Prepare technical reports, compliance histories, and maintain detailed case documentation
Collaborate with internal teams, legal staff, and external stakeholders to resolve enforcement matters
Represent the agency at meetings, inspections, and public events to communicate enforcement policies
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree in an environmental, biological, atmospheric, chemical, health, nuclear or physical science field, an engineering field, a geography/geosciences field, a natural resources field, or in a statistics or quantitative methods field
A master's degree or doctorate in an environmental, biological, atmospheric, chemical, health, nuclear or physical science field, an engineering field, a geography/geosciences field, a natural resources field, or in a statistics or quantitative methods field
