Programs Intern
Lake George Land Conservancy (LGLC) is an accredited nonprofit land trust dedicated to protecting the water quality of Lake George and its watershed. The Programs Intern will support the Education and Outreach Program by coordinating events, assisting with communications, and engaging in fundraising efforts.
Responsibilities
Work with staff to coordinate, promote, and host fundraising events
Help facilitate outreach programs including the Hike-A-Thon and Living Lands Series
Create content for social media posts (including original photos/videos) highlighting the LGLC’s work
Assist with volunteer events and workdays at our preserves
Qualification
Required
Comfortable performing physical work in an outdoor setting
Demonstrated interest in land conservation and in the LGLC's mission
Interest in event planning and donor relations
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail
Interns must have a personal vehicle and valid driver's license
Preferred
Coursework in environmental science, environmental studies, communications, marketing, or related fields are preferred
Knowledge of social media and/or graphic design
Knowledge of ecology, watersheds, and invasive species

The intern will be included in LGLC staff meetings, spend time with all staff, and learn how a professional, accredited land trust applies conservation and land protection tools to meet community needs.
