Business Development Director
Jacobs is a company focused on solving critical problems for thriving cities and resilient environments. They are seeking a Director of Business Development to drive the growth of their environmental business, particularly with energy and industrial clients in the Houston area.
Responsibilities
Drive the growth of our environmental business with key clients in Houston and across the Gulf Coast region
Ensure that Jacobs dominates the environmental market for Houston-based energy and industrial clients
Develop and execute a market growth strategy, develop leads, vet opportunities, respond to RFPs, and coach interview teams
Lead sales team, coach/mentor and motivate the team, manage commercial and legal negotiations, and close deals
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in the environmental sciences or equivalent related work experience in lieu of a degree
20 years of experience in the environmental market sector
Proven track record of winning environmental work from Houston based clients
Existing executive level contacts and strong relationships with energy and industrial clients in the region
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a market growth strategy, develop leads, vet opportunities, respond to RFPs, and coach interview teams
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead sales team, coach/mentor and motivate the team, reach within Jacobs to offer best-in-class solutions, manage commercial and legal negotiations, and close deals
Preferred
Exceptional skills in both written and oral communication
Technical background/experience in delivering or managing large environmental projects or programs is considered a positive and adds credibility in consulting and remediation industry service offerings and delivery
