Responsibilities

Serves as leader by managing the First-Year Ambassadors
Staffs events across campus to assist campus partners in their programming
Creates, plans, and works events for first year engagement
Provides feedback on First Year Experience (FYE) programming and resources
Attends bi-weekly in-person staff meetings
Designs promotional materials such as flyers for programs and events and assists the marketing department with creating engaging content for social media platforms and newsletters
Manages inventory of promotional materials and program supplies, ensuring accurate tracking, organization, and timely restocking to support event and operational needs
Oversees the First-Year Ambassadors and the FYFEP student organization, including scheduling student meetings, maintaining official student organization status, and coordinating all administrative needs with the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership
Monitors and manages the communal office email account, ensuring timely and professional responses, proper email organization, and appropriate routing of inquiries to relevant staff members
Assists with other duties as assigned

Required

Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University
Enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours
Customer service or administrative experience
Experience working as a member of a larger team with shared goals
Strong communication skills
Ability to engage and connect with peers, staff, and faculty
Active involvement in campus life with desire to contribute to the success of first-year student programs
Comfortable initiating conversations and building connections with students
Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
Demonstrates enthusiasm about promoting campus resources, events, and opportunities to fellow first-year students
Strong leadership potential
Positive attitude toward supporting peers and fostering a welcoming community
Comfortable working with little direct supervision
Ability to provide quality customer service
Strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrates willingness to provide feedback to improve our programs and be involved with our campus and community

Preferred

Students who have completed their first year
Event planning experience
Peer Mentorship experience
Work-study preferred
