Responsibilities
Prosecuting employee disciplinary and fitness hearings before the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings [ OATH ]
Handling appeals before the City Civil Service Commission [ CSC ]
Serving as counsel to the Agency’s Human Resources Solutions [ HRS ], providing critical guidance on complex labor issues, including reasonable accommodations and conflict of interest rules; and
Representing the Agency at Federal, state, and city Equal Employment Opportunity hearings and trials through a special designation from the Law Department
Advising Agency staff on a variety of labor and employment related legal issues including conflicts of interest rules, adherence to labor and employment statutes and regulations, and public access to information
Assisting with tracking and investigating incoming provider sexual harassment complaints as mandated by Mayoral Order 64
Qualification
Required
Recent graduates and Attorneys with 7+ years of experience
Ability to work 100% on-site 5 days a week
Experience in managing a case load consistent with permanent attorneys
Experience in prosecuting employee disciplinary and fitness hearings before the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings [OATH]
Experience in handling appeals before the City Civil Service Commission [CSC]
Experience serving as counsel to the Agency's Human Resources Solutions [HRS]
Experience providing guidance on complex labor issues, including reasonable accommodations and conflict of interest rules
Experience representing the Agency at Federal, state, and city Equal Employment Opportunity hearings and trials
Ability to advise Agency staff on labor and employment related legal issues
Experience assisting with tracking and investigating incoming provider sexual harassment complaints
Preferred
Newly admitted to NY State Bar or pending admission
