Responsibilities
Lead project management for mainframe software migration initiatives from planning through delivery
Consult with stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and success criteria
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk management strategies
Manage cross-functional teams and ensure alignment across engineering, operations, and leadership groups
Report project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to internal and client stakeholders
Identify opportunities for process improvement and help implement best practices for delivery efficiency
Ensure quality and compliance across all phases of migration projects
Work with IBM Z platform teams to coordinate testing, deployment, and cutover activities
Travel occasionally to client sites across North America for key milestones and workshops
Qualification
Required
PMP or PRINCE2 certification (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of experience managing large, complex technical or software implementation projects
Proven ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, and risk across multiple stakeholders
Strong knowledge of IT operations, SDLC, and project governance frameworks
Exceptional communication, documentation, and leadership skills
Ability to balance competing priorities and drive results in a dynamic environment
Preferred
Experience with IBM Z Mainframe environments or IBM Z software migrations
Familiarity with IBM software products (e.g., RACF, CICS, IDz, or Wazi)
Understanding of mainframe development languages such as COBOL or PL/I
Prior experience in modernization or DevOps transformation projects is a plus
