Administrative Assistant (State Temporary - Pharmacy)

The State of South Carolina is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation. The role involves providing administrative support services for the Board of Pharmacy, processing applications, and responding to customer inquiries.

Responsibilities

You will provide administrative support services for the Board of Pharmacy
You will process initial applications (via paper and online) utilizing applicable criteria, databases, and software
You will review and evaluate documents and ensure all necessary requirements for licensure are completed
You will respond to customer inquiries received by telephone, fax, e-mails, and other methods (including walk-ins) providing timely and accurate responses for the application and licensing processes
You will assist with planning and coordinating annual license renewals and reinstatements of permitted facilities and assist with processing various forms and notices
You will perform a variety of other functions including assisting with communications, orders, and performing research regarding compliance issues

Required

A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience

Preferred

A high school diploma and four (4) years of experience that is directly related to the area of employment
Knowledge of principles and practices of office management and general administrative functions
Active listening skills
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Strong customer service skills
Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying relevant laws, regulations, policies and procedures
Ability to follow both routine and complex instructions
Considerable skill in the use of office equipment, computers, and software and systems (i.e., Microsoft)
Ability to exhibit professionalism and courtesy to internal and external customers
