Engagement Manager
The Home Improvement Research Institute is seeking an Engagement Manager to elevate the value members receive from HIRI’s insights, community, and research programs. This role is designed to strengthen the experience of various stakeholders who rely on HIRI for market intelligence, focusing on member engagement, acquisition, and internal collaboration.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with members across functions and seniority levels
Guide member organizations in applying HIRI research to real-world business needs
Schedule and lead check-ins, onboarding, and insight-sharing sessions
Monitor engagement and identify opportunities to increase research utilization
Explore and potentially implement community formats (e.g., roundtables, peer groups)
Lead retention and re-engagement efforts with at-risk or former members
Help identify and qualify prospective members, supporting outreach efforts
Maintain accurate and up-to-date HubSpot records
Coordinate meeting generation and follow-up for the Executive Director
Support or lead new member conversations and contribute to closing opportunities
Where appropriate, lead or co-lead conversations with prospective members and participate in closing new accounts
Collaborate on membership growth strategies and prospecting materials
Partner with the Marketing Director and Production Manager on campaigns and messaging
Support content planning, communications, and email outreach
Contribute insights that inform product development, member communications, and programming
Share member feedback and engagement trends with internal teams to guide improvements
Qualification
Required
Significant autonomy to define what best-in-class member engagement looks like
Ability to develop the roadmap and execute it
Experience in shaping and executing member engagement strategy
Flexibility to build new initiatives and define success metrics
Experience in strengthening relationships across member organizations
Ability to guide members in applying insights to business decisions
Experience in monitoring engagement levels and identifying ways to increase value
Ability to assess risk and develop tailored outreach plans
Experience in supporting membership growth and maintaining accurate CRM records
Ability to support outreach campaigns and generate meetings for the Executive Director
Experience in collaborating closely with marketing and production teams
Ability to inform messaging, content planning, and campaigns
Experience in using member feedback and usage trends to inform internal planning
Proactive, organized communicator
Ability to engage with stakeholders across functions and seniority levels
Experience in identifying immediate needs and long-term opportunities
