Responsibilities
Provides technical expertise and develops technical solutions (configuration, performance estimation, etc.) as part of the pre-ITO (requisition) process while interfacing with the commercial team. Possesses a deep understanding of relevant markets and customer economic value that aid winning bid strategies
Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues
Create open-loop and closed-loop optimization solutions for power generation
Apply machine learning and first principle models to capture complex processes in generation
Use Python to develop production ready analytics to produce insights into historical and realtime operations
Work closely with the product owners to understand, refine requirements and recommend suitable engineering solutions
Prioritize, prototype, design, build, test and deploy analytics artifacts following scrum methodology
Provide communication, training, documentation and change management deliverables required to increase adoption
Assist product implementation for new customers and support for existing customers
Replicate, troubleshoot reported issues, offer short term and long term solutions
Find and interpret data sources, manages large amounts of data, merges data sources together, ensures consistency of data-sets, creates visualizations to aid in understanding data, and communicates insights / findings in simplified way to reach people who do not understand complex statistics
Execute in a fast pace delivery mode and focus in delivering tasks to meet the product release goal
Work effectively across different internal and external teams for large projects
Qualification
Required
Aero and Thermal expertise
Experience in building Operations Performance Management products for power generation
Ability to implement new, commercially re-usable analytics solutions for production systems on-prem or in the cloud
Experience in data analysis using various data sources
Familiarity with Python programming and data science
Background in modeling and process control
Experience in power generation is a plus
Technical expertise in developing technical solutions (configuration, performance estimation, etc.)
Ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters
