Wick Phillips is a full-service business law firm seeking a dynamic and dedicated Bankruptcy Attorney to join their growing team. The role involves providing legal representation and advisory services on bankruptcy matters to a diverse range of clients, while collaborating with partners and associates within the firm.

Responsibilities
Possess a working knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code, the Bankruptcy Rules, and the local rules for the various Bankruptcy Courts in Texas
Demonstrate familiarity with distressed transactions, including in and out-of-court bankruptcy alternatives
Communicate and collaborate with other Firm attorneys regarding clients and legal matters
Communicate with opposing counsel, court personnel, and vendors regarding matters
Prepare and review documents, pleadings, briefs, contracts, agreements, etc. on behalf of clients
Understand typical pleadings/motions in bankruptcy court, and other federal courts
Appear in court hearings on behalf of clients
Take and defend depositions
Conduct Legal research and writing
Prioritize and manage case load
Manage deadlines (both internal and external)
Accurately track time spent attending to client needs
Adhere to Firm’s Core Values
Qualification
Required
3+ years of relevant experience within the area of bankruptcy law
Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Exceptional analytical, research, and writing skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Stellar interpersonal and active listening skills
Ability to establish positive working relationships with colleagues at all levels
Exceptional time management, follow-through, attention to detail, and organizational skills
Preferred
Experience using legal software and tools, including Westlaw/Practical Law, iManage, Adobe, and Microsoft Office Suite
