Development Manager
Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago is seeking a Development Manager to build, manage, and grow their annual giving program. The role focuses on securing financial support from mid-level and major donors through various strategies and involves leading fundraising projects and managing donor relationships.

Responsibilities
Builds, and manages the annual giving program by securing annual financial support from mid-level and major donors to meet budgeted goals
Develops comprehensive communication and solicitation strategies involving direct mail, email, phone, personal visitation, and events focused on shaping a sustainable pipeline of annual support, with the goal of building a robust donor pipeline
Leads fundraising projects, monthly giving programs, special appeals, Peer-to-Peer fundraising, outside events and other elements that support the annual fund, including the New Lives Luncheon
Manages a portfolio of prospects and midlevel donors
Conducts research and analysis of current and prospective, individual and family foundation donors, their capacity and philanthropic interests
Implements a prospect identification, portfolio assignment, and tracking process as needed
In partnership with the Marketing and Communications team, manages and maintains internal and external materials, such as procedures and processes, collateral and communications including print, email, and social media
Works in partnership with the Community Engagement team as appropriate to align on Goodwill goals and external engagement opportunities
May provide training to coworkers or others in the organization
Manages low to moderately complex projects within the department
Articulates intended outcomes, effectively plans work for self and others, gives direction, resolves issues, and holds other accountable
May serve in formal project roles such as team member or subject matter expert
Engages effectively in change affecting her/him, communicating appropriately with supervisor
Follows through on learning, skill building, and practice necessary to adapt to change

Communicates effectively with stakeholders
Plans appropriately to meet the needs of impacted individuals

Understands social trends driving Goodwill's community engagement initiatives, and champions initiatives
Is aware of Goodwill s community partner organizations and participates in volunteer opportunities as pertains to role and interest
Participates in industry/knowledge groups
Responsible for completing other duties/responsibilities as assigned
Qualification
Required
Associates Degree or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 7 years experience
A minimum of 5 years specifically in fundraising and annual fund managerial experience preferred
The role will periodically require travel throughout the region between Milwaukee and Chicago; it will also include special events that may take place in the evenings and/or weekends
