Tax Program Technician II

California Franchise Tax Board is seeking enthusiastic and talented individuals for the Tax Program Technician II role. This position provides technical support for complex account resolution and specialized transactions related to Payment and Return Validation for various business entities, while also contributing to team member development and validation processes.

Responsibilities

Provides the highest degree of technical support for the complex account resolution and specialized transactions related to Payment and Return Validation for Corporations, Limited Liability Company’s (LLC), Partnerships and Exempt Organizations, including Amended and Combined Returns
Reviewing and validating Business Entity returns and payments
Providing technical input for team member development and in support of BES validation processes and procedures
May also work with other business areas within Franchise Tax Board and represent the section on various teams and committees

Preferred

Ability to use good judgment when reviewing data and situations, draw sound conclusions, and take effective actions
Working knowledge and experience using PC and Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Working knowledge in Business Entities Section (BES), BES Inventory Tracking System (BITS), Business Entities Tax Systems (BETS), Taxpayer Information (TI), Case Management (CM), and Taxpayer Folder (TPF), or comparable systems
Working knowledge of Business Entities (BE) laws and procedures
Working knowledge of BE return processing, workflow processes, and return validation processes
Ability to work effectively leading a team and independently
Ability to follow any apply and verbal instructions
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to adapt to changing workloads and priorities
Strong work ethic, dependable, positive attitude, and cooperative
Ability to work effectively in a production environment
Willing to learn a variety of tasks
