Bollinger Shipyards is seeking an Accountant A to perform professional accounting services to management. The role involves maintaining books of account, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance through interaction with auditors.

Responsibilities
Prepare monthly financial statements and reports
Make entries in the general ledger or direct other accounting personnel in doing so
Review ledger entries for accuracy and ensure each entry is properly explained
Conduct various cost system studies and analyses
Monitor the profit status of individual contracts
Assist in the preparation, consolidation, and review of budgets
Reconcile discrepancies in the general ledger trial balance
Interact with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy
Ensure that books are closed each month accurately and in a timely manner
Qualification
Required
Some to considerable knowledge of accounting theory and practices
Good knowledge of office procedures
Ability to analyze and interpret fiscal and accounting records and prepare accurate and complete financial statements from such records
Ability to plan, organize, and supervise the work of others
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees, auditors, and management
High school education, including or supplemented by coursework in accounting and general office procedures
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with Minor in Accounting
2 or more years' experience in clerical accounting functions or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
