Responsibilities

Must have 8+ years of DBA experience working with PostgreSQL version 9.6+, along with a good understanding of Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server

Proven expertise in managing PostgreSQL on multiple operating systems including Microsoft Windows, Linux (RHEL), and Kubernetes on OpenShift platform

Experience in setting up and supporting PostgreSQL clusters in on-premises and hybrid cloud environments, especially on AWS RDS

Strong proficiency in UNIX/Linux Shell Scripting

Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL STIG implementation, security testing, and vulnerability remediation

Working knowledge of PostgreSQL connection poolers like pgPool and pgBouncer

Capable of installing, monitoring, and maintaining PostgreSQL databases, including setting up monitoring and alerting

Skilled in building highly scalable clusters, failover, and hot standby setups based on Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA)

Experience architecting and implementing High Availability (HA) solutions using Enterprise Failover Manager (EFM) or similar technologies

Strong background in system and SQL performance tuning, and integration of business processes with diverse data sources

Ability to collaborate with development and infrastructure teams on database design, enhancements, and optimization

Demonstrated capability to implement and manage High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies

Responsible for maintaining clear and up-to-date operational documentation (procedures, architecture diagrams, etc.)

Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
