5+ years expStellantis is seeking a Quality Focused Design Release Engineer to join their refrigerant loop team at the Headquarters & Technical Center. The role involves addressing warranty and quality issues related to AC compressors and lines, while also identifying process and design improvements.

Responsibilities
Help triage and root cause issues along with finding future process/design improvement opportunities related to refrigerant loop
Document the issues, maintain relevant presentations and work with the global issue management (GIM), AI data analysis tool, Statistical tools, support onsite part reviews and make necessary trips to suppliers or to the Stellantis plants
Interface with multiple stakeholders such as powertrain, BIW, Aero/Thermal, Engine Cooling and suppliers
Support bench level testing and vehicle reviews to identify the root cause and help fix the issues for critical warranty topics
Lead meetings and establish containment actions for quality related issues pertaining to refrigerant loop
Product development and maintaining DVPR may also be required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (or equivalent)
5+ years of experience in HVAC compressors and/or A/C line design/development. Other related design experience (Engine cooling, Aero-Thermal) also a plus
Very good knowledge about Unigraphics NX and CATIA
Strong PC + MS Office skills required. Excellent written, verbal and listening skills and interpersonal skills
Self-starter and motivated to produce results
Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R)
Basic thermodynamics knowledge
Knowledge related to statistical tools and/or AI data mining tools
Experience with quality process/tools and or warranty systems
Preferred
Experience in e-compressors, chillers, EV components are a plus
Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS)
Basic knowledge in Thermodynamics
Automotive assembly plant experience
HVAC system engineering knowledge
Previous experience as an AC line design and release engineer
Working knowledge of GD&T and understanding full detail on drawings
