IT Technician
The City of Zanesville is seeking an IT Technician to provide first-level support for their technology needs. The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing data, and maintaining technology assets.

Responsibilities
First Level of IT Support for the City of Zanesville
Data entry (management of data) – accurately prioritize, categorize, track and log calls, tickets, conversations, etc. following client or internal tracking protocols
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware/software, password resets, Microsoft operating systems, security, desktop applications, and peripherals
Transport/haul, install, configure and maintain person computers, network cabling, phones and other devices as needed
Ability to maintain City of Zanesville assets in the asset management database
Assist with creating and maintaining employees’ access in multiple application databases
Respond to all Customer requests in timely and professional manner
Work closely with other team members to identify and suggest resolutions and improvements
Maintains confidentiality regarding information being processed, stored or accessed by end-users on the network
Continue to develop internal IT policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
An Associate's Degree in Computer Science or closely related field
Experience with Intel based PCs running Windows 10 or higher and Microsoft Office
An understanding of personal computer hardware, operating systems, application software, computer and network security principles and computer peripherals (printers, fax machines, desk and cell phones)
Ability to analyze problems and identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations in support of goals
Excellent teamwork, organizational, and problem solving skills
Effective communicator in writing, business presentations, and interpersonal communications
Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements
Valid Driver's License
Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills
Good communications skills
Good knowledge of LAN/WAN networks
Common software and hardware (PCs/laptops, printer, desk phones, cell phones, fax machines, etc.)
Develop and maintain good working relationships with associates, supervisors, and the general public
Maintain confidentiality of confidential or sensitive subject matters
Trouble shooting computer hardware and software issues
