Responsibilities
Responsible for creating month-end close journal entries and preparing account reconciliations
Responsible for classifying and proper accounting for operated and non-operated well expenditures and billing them to wells and owners following the associated joint operating agreements (JOA)
Responsible for properly accounting for all G&A expenditures
Responsible for setting up allocations, including internal cost allocations in the accounting software
Responsible for setting up production and drilling overhead entries
Being familiar with JIB decks and how they work
Responsible for assisting with the JIB monthly close for multiple operating companies
Responsible for assisting with working interest owner inquiries and joint venture audits
Responsible for assisting with reviewing lease operating statements (LOS) for accuracy
Responsible for tracking cash calls on non-consents
Responsible for reconciling capital expenditures (CapEx), lease operating expenses (LOE), G&A, and JIB receivable accounts
Responsible for booking LOE and Capital accruals for multiple companies
Responsible for assisting with coordinating authorization for expenditure (AFE) setup, routing & tracking
Responsible for working with operations to provide timely support, analysis, and reporting on CapEx performance, vendor analysis, and cost coding
Responsible for assisting with analysis and report creation for ad hoc data requests
Responsible for mentoring and training less experienced team members
All other duties and tasks as assigned by the direct supervisor or manager
Qualification
Required
Experience with detailed accounting processes, preferably with an oil and gas operator
Ability to meet tight deadlines on multiple complex accounting tasks, including working evenings and weekends when necessary
