Responsibilities
Program and refine Mazatrol code for Mazak lathes to produce custom parts and components
Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills efficiently and safely
Complete setups for a variety of large, refurbished pump parts and related components
Plan tool layouts, stage raw material, and verify correct workholding
Machine parts from raw stock and castings to close tolerances of 0.001 inch while maintaining quality standards
Read and interpret engineering drawings with both conventional tolerances and GD&T callouts
Adjust speeds and feeds to maximize productivity without compromising finish or accuracy
Use a range of precision measuring instruments to verify in-process and final dimensions
Apply shop math to compute radii, bolt circles, and other dimensions
Partner with the Hydro shop team while also driving tasks independently
Qualification
Required
3+ years of CNC programming experience on Mazak lathes using Mazatrol controls
Proven ability to set up and run CNC lathes and mills
Experience with tool layout and raw material setup
Strong blueprint reading with understanding of conventional and geometric tolerances
Hands-on proficiency with varied measuring tools
Solid math skills for calculating radii, bolt circles, and related features
Safety- and quality-first mindset; effective collaborator who can also work autonomously
