Postdoctoral Research Associate, Radiology and Imaging Sciences
The University of Arizona is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research associate to join Dr. Russell S. Witte's laboratory in the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences. The successful candidate will lead the development of phase change ultrasound imaging technology and work collaboratively with a team to advance imaging modalities for the human lymphatic system.
Responsibilities
Develop imaging protocols using a programmable US platform (Verasonics or Vevo F2)
Apply advanced principles in US signal processing and beamforming
Formulate / characterize nanoparticles and contrast agents
Conduct experiments in flow systems, phantoms, tissue, or animals
Produce high quality publications / mentor graduate and undergraduate students
Qualification
Required
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Optical Sciences or related field
At least three publications in biomedical imaging, advanced signal processing, and/or nanotechnology
At least four years' experience working with hardware and instrumentation
Excellent English, strong communications skills, and self-motivated
Preferred
A track record of quality publications in biomedical imaging, ultrasound, signal processing, and/or nanotechnology
Experience with open platform US systems (e.g., Vantage NXT or Vevo F2/VADA)
4+ years' experience with bioinstruments (e.g., scopes, function generators, scanners)
4+ years' experience in Matlab™/C++/Python
2+ years' experience with acoustic modeling software (k-Wave, FOCUS, Field II)
2+ years' formulating and characterizing nanoparticles or contrast agents
Experience with super-resolution ultrasound, US localization microscopy, photoacoustic imaging, elasticity imaging, pulse encoding, solving inverse problems, machine learning, AI, SolidWorks, 3D printing
