Manager of Digital Strategy Detroit
Marx Layne & Company is a Metro Detroit-area PR & digital media agency seeking a highly experienced Manager of Digital Strategy. This senior role involves leading online marketing and digital media initiatives across client accounts while shaping the agency's internal digital strategy to drive growth and ROI.
Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of comprehensive digital strategies for clients, overseeing all online marketing and digital media initiatives including SEO, PPC, social media, content marketing, email, display advertising, and emerging channels—to drive measurable growth and ROI
Create content including Reels, Videos, graphics
Shape and implement the agency’s digital strategy, enhancing our online presence, brand visibility and lead generation
Provide high-level strategic counsel to clients and internal teams, conducting market/competitive analysis, trend forecasting, and data-driven recommendations to inform innovative campaigns and agency initiatives
Manage campaign planning, execution, optimization, and performance reporting across platforms, ensuring seamless integration with broader PR and marketing efforts
Collaborate closely with creative, account, and other teams to align digital strategies with client goals and agency priorities
Stay ahead of industry trends, tools, and technologies to continuously evolve strategies and maintain a competitive edge
Qualification
Required
7+ years of proven agency experience in digital marketing/strategy, with strong track record leading successful client campaigns and internal digital projects
Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to identify opportunities, take initiative, and drive growth independently
Exceptional strategic thinking paired with hands-on expertise across digital channels (web, social, paid media, analytics, etc.)
Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities & deliver results in a fast-paced agency setting
Deep knowledge of digital tools and platforms (e.g., Google Analytics/Ads, Meta Business Suite, SEO tools, CRM systems). Light Html
Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills to translate data into actionable, high-impact strategies
Passion for the evolving digital landscape, curiosity, and adaptability
