Readathon.com is a leading digital platform that empowers schools, teachers, parents, and students through reading-based fundraising events. The VP of Finance and Accounting will oversee all financial operations, including strategy, forecasting, reporting, and budgeting, while partnering closely with the CEO and leadership team to drive growth and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy aligned with growth goals and long-term vision
Lead annual operating plans, budgets, and multi-year financial forecasts
Provide strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and market insights
Support capital allocation decisions, pricing models, and new market expansion
Oversee all financial reporting, including monthly close, P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
Provide operational and financial reporting on company KPIs and key metrics
Ensure timely, accurate, GAAP-compliant statements
Build reporting processes that give leadership real-time visibility
Lead all accounting functions and financial controls
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and industry regulations
Implement scalable financial systems and automation
Manage cash flow and working capital
Oversee payment flows between stakeholders
Support equity or debt fundraising and investor relations
Work with operations, sales, product, and engineering to optimize profitability
Lead financial modeling for partnerships, M&A, and product launches
Drive efficiency initiatives through data insights
Build and manage a high-performing finance and accounting team as we grow
Mentor and develop team members

Required

Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
10+ years of progressive finance leadership, including 5+ years at a senior executive, VP, or CFO level
Experience in technology, SaaS, digital platforms, or related fields
Strong understanding of revenue recognition and online payment flows
Expertise in forecasting and financial modeling

Preferred

Experience with PE investors or fundraising
CPA, CFA, and/or MBA
Experience scaling a digital service business
