Payroll System Analyst

The Payroll Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting and enhancing payroll and timekeeping systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance while improving operational efficiencies through various initiatives.

Responsibilities
Perform functional analysis, document business requirements, test and implement payroll and timekeeping updates and enhancements. Maintain system tables and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
Develop in-depth understanding of the payroll process
Troubleshoot payroll issues, perform scheduled maintenance, and recommend solutions to optimize functionality. Serve as a liaison between HRIT and Payroll to ensure effective system performance and coordination
Identify and implement workflow enhancements and policy updates in collaboration with leadership and vendors
Develop and maintain standard and ad hoc reports using reporting tools. Monitor data integrity and provide actionable insights. Assist the payroll manager with internal audits, compliance reviews and maintaining adherence to applicable regulations
Create user guides and train users on new features and processes
Stay current on system capabilities, payroll regulations, and industry best practices. Participate in user groups and training sessions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree is required. An Associate's degree with additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree
Minimum 5 years of experience in multi-state payroll administration
Proficiency in payroll platforms (SuccessFactors/SAP ECP preferred) and advanced Excel skills; ability to configure and troubleshoot systems
Knowledge of payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, COBRA, ERISA, and FMLA
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills; able to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization
Proficiency with prevailing wage regulations and processing
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical
High attention to detail with strong organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills; capable of interpreting data and identifying trends
Technical proficiency with payroll systems, and data reporting tools; strong computer literacy including advanced Excel
Demonstrated ability to maintain data integrity and confidentiality in all payroll processes
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to accuracy, thoroughness, and continuous process improvement
Preferred
Project management experience is a plus
Fundamental Payroll Certification (FCP) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent experience preferred
Six Sigma or process improvements experience a plus
