LA Senior Counsel

CDF Labor Law LLP is a leading employment, labor, and business immigration firm in California, and they are seeking a Senior Counsel to join their Los Angeles office. The ideal candidate will handle litigation and non-litigation matters for a diverse range of clients, managing complex class actions and engaging in strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

Collaborating and making strategic decisions in consultation with the relationship partners
Executing on those strategic decisions
Managing single plaintiff and complex class action/collective action matters
Directing defense discovery efforts
Taking and defending depositions (including the plaintiff's deposition)
Identifying and working with expert witnesses
Drafting motions (including but not limited to dispositive motions)
Making court appearances
Engaging in direct settlement negotiations and during settlement conferences and mediation
Preparing cases for trial and arbitration

Required

Minimum 8+ years of experience in labor and employment law litigation in California
Successful candidates will be highly motivated, possess excellent writing, analytical and people skills, value a collaborative team environment, and will be prepared to work independently and assume significant responsibilities
Qualified candidates must be able to independently manage significant litigation matters, including complex class action/PAGA matters, through all phases of litigation, including opposing class certification, dispositive motions, working with experts, and trial management discovery/motion practice
Juris Doctor. Qualified candidates must be and remain licensed to practice law and in good standing in the state of California
During employment, must meet requirements for continuing licensure for law practice

Preferred

Class action experience preferable
Bilingual abilities are a plus
