New Grad, Entry LevelNevada Gold Mines is seeking a Geologist I to join their Mineral Resource Management team at the Cortez operations. The role involves designing and maintaining 3D grade control models, supervising drilling activities, and compiling geological data to support mining operations.

Responsibilities
Designs, develops, and maintains 3D grade control models
Design of De-Risk and Grade Control drilling programs, track and report weekly/monthly intercepts and progress, assist with yearly budgets
Supervise and report out spends to drill budgets and forecasts
Compile and validate drilling data; including assay results, downhole survey, geology logging and QAQC and other data collected during drilling
Support RC and Core drilling activities through drill and drill station inspections, validating TD’s
Geological logging of core and RC chips; update of grade control modeling
Geological mapping (either digital or on paper depending on location) and sampling of active benches; in all weather conditions
Compile mapping and assay information in 3-D software and correlate it with existing models
Supervise sample collection for accuracy and consistency, timely delivery to lab
Prepare weekly and monthly reports as required; assist with weekly and monthly reconciliation for model performance and impacts to grade
Qualification
Required
Bachelors of Science degree in Geology or related field required
Excellent safety record required
Ability to work within a team environment and possess excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required
Preferred
Previous mine operations experience preferred
Previous Leapfrog modeling experience preferred
Proficiency in Excel preferred
Familiarity with Deswik, Vulcan, LeapFrog and Acquire software an advantage preferred
