Responsibilities

Own U.S. regulatory strategy for skincare and period care products, including product classification, compliance pathways, and launch readiness
Serve as the regulatory lead for FDA-related requirements, including (as applicable) cosmetics regulations, OTC-related considerations, and medical device frameworks
Build and maintain core compliance deliverables: regulatory assessments, rationales, and documented decision-making for product and claim positioning
Review and approve labels, packaging, PDP/back panel content, instructions for use, websites, paid ads, retailer PDP copy, influencer content guidance, and PR materials for regulatory compliance
Partner with Marketing and R&D to develop compliant claims frameworks (cosmetic vs. drug vs. device vs. general wellness), including guardrails and approved language
Partner with R&D to substantiate formula against global ingredient compliance and marketing claims
Ensure claims are supported by appropriate substantiation (testing, literature, consumer perception, clinical studies as needed), and maintain audit-ready claim support files
Manage internal claims database
Manage required or strategic registrations, listings, and notifications (as applicable), and maintain product documentation in a structured, inspection-ready format
Create and maintain internal regulatory 'playbooks' and SOPs for recurring workflows (claims review, label approval, change control, complaint escalation criteria, etc.)
Act as a trusted advisor to cross-functional stakeholders, delivering practical recommendations that support growth and retail execution
Lead regulatory input into change control (formula, packaging, suppliers, manufacturing sites) to ensure ongoing compliance
Support Quality/Customer Care in evaluating complaints for regulatory risk, trending, and escalation requirements
Support retailer compliance expectations (e.g., documentation, restricted claims/categories, PDP requirements) and respond to retailer questions quickly and accurately
Help prepare compliant retailer content libraries and guidance for internal teams and agencies
Maintain ingredient blacklist based on evolving market regulations
Provide regulatory input for Canada and Europe expansion, including high-level pathway assessment, labeling requirements, and claims considerations; coordinate with external consultants as needed

Required

5–8+ years Regulatory Affairs experience in skincare/personal care/CPG (or adjacent)
Deep experience with U.S. labeling + claims review and evidence-based substantiation
Comfortable operating independently and setting up lightweight systems
Confident using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Google Workspace to create clean, professional documents and presentations
You take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work and catching the small things that make a big difference
Comfortable communicating clearly and effectively with team members at all levels, whether it's through email, reports, or face-to-face conversations
You're skilled at staying organized, meeting deadlines, and getting things done independently without much hand holding
Always ready to pitch in and go the extra mile to support your teammates and help the team succeed

Preferred

Cosmetic and medical device experience (or device-adjacent categories)
Retail compliance experience (Target/Walmart/CVS)
Canada and/or EU regulatory exposure
