Responsibilities
Assist with direction of all school band performances, including marching band, concert band, jazz band, soloists, and small ensembles
Assist with establishing performance requirements, enforcing academic requirements, and verifying each student’s eligibility to participate in band
Assist in providing opportunities for band participation in curricular and extracurricular events, including concerts, football games, pep rallies, parades, TMEA, and UIL activities
Assist with arrangements for transportation, lodging, and meals for out-of-town events. Comply with federal and state laws, State and Local Board of Education policy, and UIL rules governing band participation
Assist with evaluative findings (including student achievement data) to determine program effectiveness and ensure that program renewal is continuous and responds to student needs
Assist with planning and use of appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned and show written evidence of preparation as required
Assist with development and implementation of plans for improvement and growth of band program and show written evidence of preparation as required
Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position
Direct and manage the overall program of instrumental music for the school(s) assigned
Provide students the opportunity to participate in extracurricular band activities and ensure compliance with all state, University Interscholastic League (UIL), and District requirements. Plan activities to achieve district, region, and state recognition
Direct and supervise all school band performances, including marching band, concert band, jazz band, soloists, and small ensembles

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
Direct and manage the overall program of instrumental music for the school(s) assigned
Advanced typing skills of 60 wpm
Provide students the opportunity to participate in extracurricular band activities and ensure compliance with all state, University Interscholastic League (UIL), and District requirements
