Responsibilities
Maintain and enhance the Enterprise Data Catalog, including domains, assets, attributes, KPIs, definitions, and relationships, ensuring accuracy and usability
Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define, implement, and enforce metadata standards, naming conventions, and certification workflows
Validate technical metadata and lineage ingested from multiple sources to ensure reliability and completeness
Monitor catalog usage and provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to end users
Partner with data owners and stewards to ensure proper assignments of data ownership and stewardship responsibilities
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), training materials, and comprehensive documentation
Perform data profiling and quality checks to ensure metadata integrity and completeness
Define data quality checks in collaboration with business stakeholders and validate implementation results
Support the Data Governance Architect and other governance team members as needed
Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned data domains, providing guidance and expertise to stakeholders and teams
Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities

Qualification
Required
Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply
2 plus years of experience in data stewardship, governance, and metadata management
Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel
Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms
Requires close vision
Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs
Large-Scale Data Stewardship: Applies governance principles to maintain accurate, complete, and reliable metadata across enterprise systems
Collibra Expertise: Leverages Collibra tools to manage data catalog assets, workflows, and integrations effectively; certification preferred
Metadata & Lineage Management: Ensures consistency and compliance with enterprise standards for metadata, lineage, and data definitions
Data Quality Analysis: Conducts profiling, validation, and quality checks to maintain trusted, actionable data assets
Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge: Understands and applies data privacy regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and internal data classification standards
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Builds strong relationships with business and technical stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into actionable guidance
Process Documentation & Training: Develops SOPs, training materials, and documentation to ensure clarity and adoption of data governance practices
Analytical Problem Solving: Applies curiosity and critical thinking to identify data issues, design solutions, and proactively improve enterprise data quality
Ownership & Execution: Demonstrates high levels of accountability, innovation, and bias for action in managing data assets and governance initiatives
Retail Business Acumen: Builds a foundational understanding of the retail sector to contextualize data insights and governance practices
