New Grad, Entry LevelToshiba International Corporation is seeking a part-time Engineer Software Dev I. The role involves studying and modifying existing code, as well as providing manufacturing support for embedded CPU systems.

Responsibilities
Design, write, code and document programs for various embedded CPU system
Have knowledge and understanding of CPU architectures as used in embedded systems
Write code in assembly and in C languages
Be able to test and debug embedded code using simulators, emulators, and target systems
Debug, test and modify code written by others
Use various compilers, linkers, and locators to generate embedded code
Use PROM, EPROM, EEPROM programmers to generate parts prototypes
Provide documentation on code and write design documents and validation procedures
Work with NEC V853 RISK processor and the 80C251 processor
Should have experience/understanding of firmware (interface with hardware), peripheral electrical circuits
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or computer science
Extensive knowledge and understanding of JavaScript
Sound understanding of web markup, such as HTML
Proficiency in browser rendering behavior and performance
Understand the agile software development methodology to solve complex problems
Experience in developing asynchronous web applications using Ajax
Experience in usability engineering (user interface design for great UX/UI)
Experience using CGI/APIs objects to use in different applications
Experience software testing techniques
Experience with Git version control software
Basic knowledge and understanding of computer network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP)
Basic knowledge and understanding of industrial/utility communication systems and protocols (e.g., Modbus, SNMP, BACnet)
Basic knowledge and understanding of Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS)
Basic knowledge and understanding of Energy Storage Systems (ESS)
Ability to work 24+ hours per week, with approximately 60% in-office and 40% remote
Great communication skills (written and verbal)
Proven experience in developing, optimizing, and deploying machine learning models on embedded systems, including resource-constrained microcontrollers and edge devices
Preferred
Have working/education experience developing cloud-based applications using AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
Have a basic understanding of developing machine learning models
Have basic knowledge of big data, analytics, and IoT and their usage
Experience using and managing a Linux machine
Understanding of NIST Cybersecurity Framework is a plus
